Production Update: Curtain
With shooting for Curtain only two days away, everything seems to be on track. We’ve had a couple really good rehearsals over the past couples weeks with the last one this past Monday. Seeing the whole cast together has gotten me really jazzed to be directing again, though it has been so long, I admit I feel a bit green.
My rustiness in the director’s chair aside, I am quite happy with how everything is progressing. Vik has just been awesome on the production end of things. If it weren’t for him, Mike, and Sam, we wouldn’t have a production at all. And Vik was entirely responsible for finding our location, which looks to be just perfect. All I have to worry about for Saturday is working with the cast and making sure I have enough food for everyone. A little stop at Costco for craft services, and my mind is put at ease.
Hey, let’s not forget, the Oscars are on Sunday. Fitting for the day after the shoot, I thought. We’ll be having our wrap party and Oscar party at the same time. Here’s to a successful shoot.
Oh yeah, and the song of the week, in keeping with the general theme of entertainment, is Louis Armstrong’s rendition of “Cabaret” (yep, that “Cabaret”). Quite a fun, jazzy version of the song, certainly much different from the familiar version belted out by Liza.
