Sum- Sum- Summertime

I know, technically, it’s still spring, and the summer solstice doesn’t occur until June 21st, but everyone knows Memorial Day is the unofficial start of summer. School’s out, graduates are tossing their caps, the beaches are open, and the blockbuster season has begun. Barbeques and ballgames abound.

And word on the street is that Revenge of the Sith is actually pretty good. Well, everyone has their opinion of course, but I will add to the general concensus that Ian McDiarmid absolutely owned that movie. I mean, he’s always been solid since he first played the Emperor in Return of the Jedi, but who would have thought that over twenty years down the road the casting would have payed off the way it did. Let’s give it up for classically trained theatre actors.

In other news, I have begun work on The Adventures of Merlin and Spunky, which will feature the comedic stylings of Merlin Froyd and fellow Curtain alumn Joy Yaholkovsky, who is, incidentally, producing a film of her own at the moment. This does not mean I am abandoning my proposed follow-up to Curtain, which is slowly turning into a series. And of course, I am still outlining a possible music video for The Modlins as well, so stay tuned.

Work does continue to get Curtain into festivals, so as soon as this happens, you, my dear readers, will be the first to know. And I have begun on a new feature screenplay, which is decidedly different than Vincent, and like all new ideas, I am enjoying it immensely. Still, I am working on getting out in the sunshine more often.

Go now, enjoy your summer.
